Manufactuting - Intercompany Purchases
Project Requirements:
After introducing the new SAP management system, the client faced the need to optimize Intercompany purchase flows, requiring a customized configuration to address the specific needs of various company branches. Following a detailed analysis of internal processes, a tailored Intercompany flow was developed to manage component purchases and finished product development among the client’s companies. This approach ensured smoother and more efficient procurement management, optimizing material and resource flows between divisions and providing full operational visibility. The customization also reduced management times and improved integration among company systems, creating stronger synergy between branches and increasing operational accuracy and speed.
Approach:
By choosing DataNetwork as a partner for Intercompany SAP project implementation, the client embarked on a transformation journey focused on operational efficiency. After sharing project goals, a structured procedure for managing the Intercompany flow was defined, considering key aspects such as timing and possible application solutions. The adopted approach involved thorough analysis of current processes and the specific needs of involved entities, aiming to design an optimized, scalable flow easily integrated into the existing management system. DataNetwork’s project experience and ability to adapt to client operational dynamics enabled a clear implementation plan to simplify operations, increase traceability, and improve communication among group companies.
Solution:
The client selected DataNetwork as a strategic partner for developing a new Intercompany solution in SAP, aiming to overcome limitations of the previous subcontracting-based process. In close collaboration with the client, a new structured flow was designed and implemented to make procurement and material transformation processes among group companies more efficient, traceable, and integrated.
The new model was divided into two interconnected phases covering the entire operational cycle. The first phase involves component purchases by one group company, movement to a transformation plant, and processing to obtain the finished product. The second phase covers finished product purchases by another group entity. Both phases leverage SAP EWM functionalities through the involved physical warehouses.
The initiative’s success was enabled by DataNetwork’s methodological approach, based on solid project experience, adaptability to client specifics, and close synergy with the internal ICT team. This ensured excellent results in efficiency, standardization, and scalability of the implemented model.
