Food - Industrial Controlling

Project Requirements:

The client operates globally in design, production, and marketing of vehicles and machines for agriculture, earthmoving, trucks, commercial vehicles, buses, special vehicles, plus a wide range of powertrain applications. To optimize financial management, they initiated a strategic initiative to design a centralized payment and collection architecture based on a 'one bank' model for the EMEA area. Supporting this transformation, an IT SAP platform project was launched to develop a Central Payment Collection Hub, ensuring greater efficiency, control, and integration of financial flows among group companies, excluding Africa.

Approach:

The standard SAP methodology applied to the project follows well-defined phases: Project Planning and Preparation, Business Blueprint, Realization Build, Realization Test, Preparation and Go-Live, and Post Go-Live Support. Various processes were implemented and managed, including incoming/outgoing flows, internal bank mapping, payment and collection methods, bank details updates, and automated XML file transmission for mass payments to banks and treasury. The Electronic Bank Statement (EBS) implementation was also realized. The solution was developed using SAP ECC with specific integrations to Trusted Hub and the client’s Trax system.

Solution:

Adopting SAP for payment and collection process management contributes to greater operational efficiency through centralization and automation of financial operations. SAP enables integrated and automatic cash flow management, reducing manual errors and speeding payment processing. Bank connections optimization and adaptation to various file formats, communication protocols, and security standards ensure SAP integrates easily with banks and external systems, complying with regulations and protecting financial transactions. The system reduces treasury banking costs by automating processes, eliminating manual interventions, and improving visibility and control over bank operations, yielding management and transaction cost savings. Eliminating locally uncontrolled payments is another key advantage, as SAP centralizes all payments, preventing unauthorized transactions and enhancing financial control, contributing to transparent and secure resource management.
