Cosmetic - SAP DMC
Project Requirements:
The client’s core business is focused on the design and production of cosmetics, partially carried out through an internal subcontracting model that enables flexible management of production resources. With a view to growth and internationalization, the client set as a strategic objective the optimization of production processes, emphasizing innovation and digitalization of operations. To support this evolution, a technological transformation was initiated involving the adoption of next-generation management and manufacturing systems, capable of optimizing operational flows, improving traceability, and ensuring greater responsiveness to market demands. This choice allows increased productivity, waste reduction, and overall quality improvement of the production cycle, laying the foundation for future scalability and sustainability of the entire industrial model.
Approach:
The client selected Data Network as a strategic partner to accompany the digital transformation of their organization, aiming to modernize and integrate business processes within a more flexible, scalable, and future-oriented technological ecosystem. The project followed a structured methodological approach, based on best practices and standard frameworks, allowing the complexity of change to be addressed in a sustainable way. The initiative was organized in sequential waves, enabling a gradual transition to new systems without disrupting operational activities. This method ensured better change management, reduced project risks, and allowed progressive involvement of business stakeholders. The outcome was a solid and continuous innovation path capable of supporting the client in evolving their operational models, improving efficiency, responsiveness, and process control.
Solution:
During the digital transformation journey, successful integration was implemented between the SAP S/4HANA management system and the SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud platform. The project involved complete, automated, real-time data exchange between systems, handling production orders, material consumption, and processing progress for both finished products and assemblies. Integration was achieved using standard SAP communication protocols, ensuring process reliability and scalability. The obtained benefits include:
• Increased operational efficiency: thanks to reduced update times and immediate visibility on production progress;
• Greater accuracy in product costing: with real-time updated data and improved control over actual material and resource consumption;
• Reduction of IT costs: through the decommissioning of legacy hardware and software, streamlining the technology infrastructure;
• Alignment with the latest Industry 4.0 standards: enabling more agile and flexible production management, improving adaptability to market changes.
This integration represents a strategic step toward a more connected, intelligent, and sustainable production.
